Welcome to the Careers Page at Oakwood School
The aim of this page is to keep you informed of the Work-Related curriculum and associated activities, as well as providing Information, Advice & Guidance. As presented below, through the Oakwood School Career’s Programme, each student from year 7 to year 11 will experience a range of events, assemblies and presentations, to ensure that they create the best decisions for their future.
Unifrog Careers Tutor Time Programme

This will be achieved through:
-
Self-development (helping students to understand themselves and develop their capabilities)
-
Career exploration (helping students to investigate careers and opportunities)
-
Career management (helping students implement their plans)
At Oakwood School, we provide a programme for all our students, enabling them to access to full and informative career progression which is supported by an Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) Advisor.
Provider Access Legislation:
The updated provider access legislation (PAL) has now been enacted. It specifies that schools must provide at least four encounters with approved providers of apprenticeships and technical education for all their students:
-
Two encounters for pupils during the ‘first key phase’ (year 8 or 9) that are mandatory for all pupils to attend
-
Two encounters for pupils during the ‘second key phase’ (year 10 or 11) that are mandatory for all pupils to attend
