Due to our expanding pupil numbers, Oakwood is seeking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to work
within the Access to Learning Faculty (ALF). Teaching Assistants are required to work with students
with complex needs on a 1:1 basis in class or in a withdrawal space as needed, with support from
ALF Leaders.
The ideal candidate is likely to have some experience in working with young people but not
necessarily in an educational establishment. The role is varied, and you will need to work with
students to enable them to successfully access the curriculum.
We are particularly keen for members to join our team who are passionate about building
relationships and improving outcomes for students with autism and students with social, emotional
and mental health needs. Oakwood can support you with any further training required, so if you are
passionate about supporting students with complex needs, do please get in touch. If you are already
experienced in these areas, we would similarly love to hear from you.
You will be joining a successful, large team, dedicated to ensuring that all students are able to access
the curriculum. Continued Professional Development is highly valued at Oakwood School and we will
