Paris Trip 2019

Day 4 - Thursday
Today we went to Disneyland!! It was raining and windy all day but it didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits and a fabulous time was had by all.

After a short journey back to the Chateau we had dinner (with the opportunity to try escargot, for those brave enough) and then games before returning to our rooms to start packing in readiness for our journey home tomorrow.

Day 3 - Wednesday
Another windy day dawned and after breakfast we made our way to Melun, a local town. The students had the opportunity to use their French whilst wandering around the market. There was also the opportunity to see some local delicacies in the food hall.

We then made our way back to the coach for the short journey to Fontainebleau for lunch.

The students did the trail/worksheet around the grounds of the Chateau before venturing inside this impressive former home of the Kings and Queens of France.

Having just missed a rainstorm when we left the Chateau we then went to a local bowling alley for an hour of fun!

Following our return to our base and another delicious dinner there were some team games before an early night in readiness for Disneyland tomorrow.

Day 2 - Tuesday
Following a good night's sleep and a breakfast of cereal and croissants the group boarded the coach for the trek into Paris.  After a fairly smooth journey, and a great commentary from our guide with lots of historical information and trivia, we made it into the centre of Paris.  It was sunny but very windy and after climbing the Eiffel Tower where we saw some great views, we made our way back down for lunch.

Once the packed lunches had been eaten, the students were given booklets to work in.  There are lots of questions in French and English about Paris and the sites being visited.

It was then time to board the Bateau Parisienne for a sail down the River Seine, again taking in lots of sites.

We then boarded the coach again for a quick trip up to Montmartre and Sacre Coeur where there was the opportunity to buy some souvenirs after which we had a crepe or an ice cream before making the very rainy journey back to the Chateau for dinner.

Day 1 - Monday
Year 8 arrived in France after a very smooth journey, arriving ahead of schedule. Having had time in their rooms, a tour of the grounds and dinner they are now taking part in a bin bag fashion challenge. All is well. Tomorrow the Eiffel Tower awaits.
