We also introduce our students to the world of Film and Media studies in Year 9, as well as English reading and writing skills to prepare them fully for the GCSE years to come.

 KS4 Specification

For KS4 English we currently follow the new AQA specification for GCSE. We offer GCSE English Language and English Literature.   According to the new curriculum specifications the GCSE is 100% Exam based. For GCSE English Literature we study A Christmas Carol, An Inspector Calls, Macbeth and Poetry; English Language consists of a skills based curriculum which sees students study a variety of different writing styles, as well as explore comprehension through a range of 19th, 20th and 21st century literature.
